Meeting Dates and Times: The meeting will take place at the DoubleTree Hotel and Executive Meeting Center. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2005, and conclude at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2005.
   
ACCOMMODATIONS
A block of sleeping rooms for meeting participants has been reserved for the “Translational Research Grantees and Advisory Meeting” at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rockville, MD. The rate is $166 per night for single occupancy, plus tax.

To receive this reduced rate, please indicate that you are requesting a room for the Translational Research Grantees and Advisory Meeting when making your reservations. Reservations must be made by no later than Friday, October 21 and must be secured with a major credit card. Please be certain that the hotel provides you with a confirmation number for your reservation. After October 21, the official room block will be released and the hotels may charge significantly higher rates or may be sold out. When making a reservation, please provide room and bedding preferences. The hotel will assign specific room types at check-in, based on availability. Please be advised that requests are not guaranteed.

Cancellation Policy: All hotel cancellations must be made within 72 hours prior to your arrival date, or the hotel will charge a penalty equal to 1 night’s room and tax to your credit card.
   
GROUND TRANSPORTATION TO THE HOTEL
Using the Metro System:

The Metro System is clean, reliable, and safe. It operates from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight Monday through Thursday; 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Friday; 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Saturday; and 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight on Sunday. Each passenger must buy a farecard to travel in the system. Guides for purchasing farecards are posted on the vending machines in each station. Each Metro car features a complete color-coded map. From Ronald Reagan National Airport to the DoubleTree Hotel
Board the Metro Yellow Line to Gallery Place, where you will transfer to the Red Line toward Shady Grove. Exit at the Twinbrook Station and cross the street to the hotel. Total travel time is approximately 45 minutes.

From Washington Dulles International Airport to the DoubleTree Hotel
Take a Washington Flyer van from the airport to the West Falls Church Metro Station. Board the Metro Orange Line toward New Carrolton and transfer at Metro Center to the Red Line toward Shady Grove. Exit at the Twinbrook Station and cross the street to the hotel. Total travel time is approximately 1 hour.

From Union Station to the DoubleTree Hotel
Take the Metro Red Line toward Shady Grove. Exit at the Twinbrook Station and cross the street to the hotel. Total travel time is approximately 35 minutes.

Airport Shuttles:

SuperShuttle offers service to most hotels from Ronald Reagan National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport. The shuttle leaves on an as-needed basis between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. During other times, please arrange for a shuttle by calling 800-258-3826 from the airport.

Taxi Service:

The taxi fare is $45-$50 from Ronald Reagan National Airport, $55-$65 from Washington Dulles International Airport, and $55-$65 from Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

By Automobile:

From Ronald Reagan National Airport
Take the George Washington Parkway (Route 110 North) to I-495 (Capital Beltway) North toward Maryland. Bear left onto I-270 North toward Frederick. Take Exit 4-A (Montrose Road East). Proceed 2-3 miles and turn left onto Rockville Pike. The DoubleTree Hotel is on the right directly after the Rollins Avenue/Twinbrook Parkway intersection.

From Washington Dulles International Airport
Travel on the Dulles Access Road for approximately 13 miles to Exit 18. Move to the right on the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) and take Exit 18. Stay left on the ramp for Bethesda/Baltimore and proceed toward Bethesda on I-495 (Capital Beltway). Travel approximately 9 miles on I-495. Bear left onto I-270 North toward Frederick. Take Exit 4-A (Montrose Road East). Proceed 2-3 miles and turn left onto Rockville Pike. The DoubleTree Hotel is on the right directly after the Rollins Avenue/Twinbrook Parkway intersection.

From BWI
Take Route 195 West to Exit 4 (I-95 South), then head West on I-495 (Capital Beltway) toward Silver Spring. Take Exit 34 (Route 355 North, Wisconsin Avenue/Rockville Pike). Proceed 3-4 miles North on Rockville Pike. The DoubleTree Hotel is on the right directly after the Rollins Avenue/Twinbrook Parkway intersection.

From Points North
Take I-95 South to I-495 West (Capital Beltway) toward Silver Spring, then take Exit 34 (Route 355 North, Wisconsin Avenue/Rockville Pike). Proceed 3-4 miles on Rockville Pike. The DoubleTree Hotel is on the right directly after the Rollins Avenue/Twinbrook Parkway intersection.

From Points South
Take I-95 North to I-495 North/East (Capital Beltway) toward Rockville/Tysons Corner and travel across the river into Maryland. Bear left onto I-270 North toward Frederick. Take Exit 4-A (Montrose Road East). Proceed 2-3 miles and turn left onto Rockville Pike. The DoubleTree Hotel is on the right directly after the Rollins Avenue/Twinbrook Parkway intersection.

Parking at the Hotel:

Daily parking is complimentary. Please see the Registration Desk for a Parking code each day to exit the parking lot.
