Abstract Submission and Travel Awards (Students and Postdocs only)
A majority of the oral presentations and all posters will be selected from the submitted abstracts by the organizing committee. Abstracts should be sent to the address below, and are due by Friday, March 11, 2006.

Topics will include, but are not restricted to: |
| |
- Molecular imaging of the endogenous pancreatic islet;
- Imaging islet inflammation;
- Imaging transplanted allogeneic or xenogeneic islets;
- Animal models for imaging beta cells;
- Identifying beta cell surface targets and ligands for imaging;
- Emerging technologies with applications for pancreatic islet imaging;
- Imaging metabolic or physiological phenomena related to islet function, vascularization, apoptosis, or regeneration.

Abstracts should be limited to one page. Include a title, all authors (presenting author should be clearly marked), department affiliation, university, city, state, country, postal code, and email address, along with sufficient experimental detail to assess the relevance of the work. Please acknowledge appropriate funding sources for your research. Inclusion of figures is encouraged. In addition to sending us your abstract, please check the "I will be submitting an abstract" button when you register for the workshop. There is no fee for registration. |

Students and postdocs are encouraged to attend this workshop. Travel awards are available for presenting postdocs and students in the amount of $500. These will be chosen from among submitted abstracts on the basis of quality and significance. If you would like to apply for a travel award, please include a short cover letter containing a brief biosketch along with your abstract, and indicate whether you would prefer to present your work as a talk, poster, or either. |
